ASK: The best advice to get things for cheaper or free is just to ask.
When my apartment management sent out letters announcing that rents were going up $50/month, I bawlked! So I called the management and told them that we have been loyal, reliable and easy tenants and could they do something about the rent increase? After a couple minutes on hold, they said they would leave my rent the same. Yey, no rent increase! That 1 phone called saved me $50 x 12 = 600!

DO RESEARCH AHEAD OF TIME:
Before going to restaurants, I search for coupons or groupons. If that doesn’t work, then scour the online menu or online site for other discounts:
Look for BYOB, BOGO, and PRE FIXED MEALS.
The other night, we went to a steak house where most meals were between $35-50. But the pre fixed meal (which had 6 different entre choices) was $30 and included: appetizer, entre, dessert and free glass of wine! It was actually cheaper than the main meal and you got 3 more items for free!

TRY TO GET MORE WITH EACH PURCHASE: These companies below are just several places that give you free items with your purchases:
-Sephora, ULTA, Nordstrom’s, LUSH, THE BODY SHOP: All offer free samples online and at their counters with a purchase. I don’t think I’ve bought any face creams in years!

SIGN UP FOR FREEBIES:
-If you find you shop at certain places often, look to sign up for their email list. You may end of getting special coupons, discounts and free money to spend!
